About the Artist
Sofia Gawer-Fische holds art and teaching degrees in sculpture and printing/engraving from Pridiliano Pueyrredon National School of Fine Arts, in Buenos Aires. She had exhibit extensively in Argentina and the United States.
Her public art projects includes a Bluebird sculpture for the Bird I View in prince George?s Country, MD; a Seagull sculpture for Beach Birds in Ocean City, MD; a Rescue Dog sculpture for DOGNY in New York City; and a Donkey sculpture for Party Animals for the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities. She has led art workshops for museum and schools.

Mrs. Gawer-Fische has worked with GALA designing properties for La edad de la ciruela, Tu ternura Molotov, Cita a ciegas , Agustin Lara: boleros & blues, and Elliot, A Soldier?s Fugue. She also created sculptures for Fresa y chocolate, and designed sets for Maru Montero Dance Company at GALA.
